For those interested in working with a fun medium, I suggest pastels! Pastels are a fun and versatile way to exercise one’s creative energies in a colorful and vibrant way. On hand, all one needs is a selection of pastels and some paper upon which to draw. Pastel Art is similar, at the beginning, to art with color crayons. First, draw something. Then, put down the pastels and use your fingers! With your fingers, blend the colors, fan them out, spread them. You can always add more pastel color and spread again. This art form tends to be a little messy, so be sure to have somewhere to clean your fingers afterward!
