My husband works in a factory. He is often required to run forklifts. He had to be certified in order to do so. He had to attend classes, where he watched videos on proper maintenance, safe operation, and proper loading and unloading techniques. He had to take a written test to prove his knowledge. Then, he had to take a driving test to show that he could operate the equipment. After he passed the course, he was given a sticker to place on his hard hat, showing that he is certified. He also received a card to carry in his wallet. In two years, he will have to be recertified.
